You must be thinking this article is about waking up early in the morning. How to start your day in a better way, more organized and productive manner.

Right?

Well, out of the many things, yes waking up alarm could also possibly be one way of interpreting this article. But, the main intent is not just early morning alarms.

It is aimed at all the alarms that you set for your life in the form of monthly goals, quarterly achievements, your yearly growth plan so on and so forth.

Confused?

Don’t be.

I am talking about all the benchmarks that you set for your goals in life (both long and short term ones).

In the long run of life, we all wish to achieve something, reach a place from where we can say we have reached our heights. And that is how our life is supposed to be, no doubt.

But, what we often forget is we are humans and not machines.  To just keep on running monotonously each day, everyday is not our purpose of existence.

We are social beings made of flesh and blood, which means we are not meant just to chase and chase.

God did not design us that way. We all are a beautiful creation filled with immense potential and capable of doing anything and everything we wish to do. But, that is only and only possible when we take good care of ourselves.

Nowadays, often I find people who are just tired mentally, physically, psychologically and emotionally. Just too tired too weak too vulnerable. Doing something they themselves don’t know at times.  Infact, most of the time.

Why do you think such cases happen?

As per my thoughts, they are just randomly chasing something not knowing why.

Not knowing whether they truly want it or not.

Not knowing what they are doing sometimes.

They are just helpless.

For instance,

Some people get dressed the prettiest way possible, but still they are not confident.

On the other hand, some people are out shopping with friends, still they are completely distressed.

Some maybe having their favourite cuisines, yet they don’t get the taste of it, while others are watching their most awaited movies with a company that makes them hate not just the movie but the entire ambience of it.

Do you know why people do things that they don’t want to do or they know they should not, yet do it anyway?

It’s because they keep snoozing there alarms instead of resetting the clock.

It’s because we try to do things just for convincing others to proving a point to others. We keep on stressing ourselves for something to a level where we end up breaking at last.

This is where we go through all the trouble, start questioning ourselves, become vulnerable and at times gets addicted as well.  At last when the realization kicks in, all of this trouble was just to prove ourselves to someone who might not even be a person of importance in our life’s.

You won’t go to your English teacher to give your Maths exam, would you?

Similarly, not every person who asks to prove yourself, deserves that effort of yours. Coz, most people play the trick of engaging you in proving yourself to them and end up wasting your precious time.

You are not expected to be a part of every game that is being played just because you are sportsperson.

Remember that.

From the very next time you do something, anything at all.

Ask yourself first. Take your own permission before asking for it from your parents, your spouse, your partners, or your guardian etc.

Is your own self comfortable with you doing whatever it is that you are planning to you?

Is this what you wanted to do in the first place?

The second question would be:

Ask yourself why?

Why are you doing, whatever it is that you are doing?

And only if you get a positive response and a good feeling, only then you should go for it.

Always remember you don’t need a guide all the time to help you, you don’t need a motivational book to teach you. Your own body, your own senses tell you that.

The only challenge is you don’t pay enough attention. You are too busy trying to convince others that you forget yourself completely.

Sounds daunting, right?

Here is the proof to what you just read is right:

How many times for any of your dates, have you felt — Should I even be going for it?

How many times how you felt that you are not in the right place?

How many times have you felt uneasy about doing something?

How many times have you heard your inner voice say – No, this isn’t going right?

How many times have you felt the day was wasted?

How many times have you had a feeling that says, this is not what I am or who I am in the first place?

If any of the previous questions gives you an answer more than 0. You have all the proof you need.

Folks, this is what happens to one and all. Once we start walking the path we choose to achieve our goals, at some point we realise this is going to be a difficult ride, we decide to come back to our comfort zone. We decide to quit and settle down for something that is not even us. Not realising that today’s struggle is an opportunity we give to our future selves to be what it wanted to be. Rather than trapping ourselves in never ending suffocation of being someone we are not.

You fear of a difficult today deprives you of all the good that is in store for you tomorrow.

That is the real reason why we all are tired, restless, in pain and broken from inside.  And hence eventually we exhaust ourselves to ruins.

That said, I don’t mean here to not go out or make friends or have fun. Do all of it. In fact, refreshments are an important part of life. It energizes us, it cleanses us.

But you should know when to stop and where to stop. You should not only build you limits but also make yourself so strong that even if someday you think otherwise, you yourself shouldn’t end up crossing them.

Few days back I came across a saying that caught my attention:

This is a universal truth that,

“Once you start growing, you will start losing friends.

You will be lonely.

You will be hated.

You will be insulted and mistreated.

You will be judged.

And

Most importantly, you will be criticized.

That is the process.

The end.

If you really want to grow you have to go through all of it. That is just how it is.

And

In the end you will come out as the grown version of yourself achieving everything that you aimed to.”
