HOPE

Dark clouds appeared in the most pleasant and happy days of life,
Just when I was learning to hold on and find peaceful sleep at night.

Took everything away from me, as I kept all my near and dear ones unaware,
Ego, it was that played the game in closing all the doors and making me scare.

Slowing but steady I watched my life's ship break in the mid of this unknown sea,
Helpless and lonely was I; and never imagined a situation like this is waiting ahead for me.

It felt so hollow with pain, grief, and fear,
Instead of taking things in high gear, I left it all untouched mere. 

Forgot my way back home, sat on streets late nights,
Even then every morning reached will a blissful smile.

Even today when I think of that day in the month of June,
My smiling face which is now dead flashes back on me soon.

Wrong, terribly was I, in thinking moving away would solve all the issues;
Yet again, did the same mistake by leaving the city as if it was something news.

Uncertain to what will happen next and how are the things after I left;
Wishes and Prayers are all that I have, for that smile to come back as it was in its original place.

Heard that voice after a long time, but, it was tensed;
Could make out what this void is creating - a sea of difference. 

Days will pass and there will be sunlight again, 
Speaks this undying hope, keeping me moving forward bit by bit saying 'everything is not all vain'.
